Future Ritual

STUDIO: Future Ritual sits at the threshold of performance, art and ritual. Through a regular programme of classes, workshops and events, STUDIO offers a place for curious folk to gather, learn and practice together.

Situated in Peckham’s iconic Bussey Building, STUDIO nurtures a community of practice for performance artists while remaining open to our wider communities as an affordable, welcoming space for physical and creative work.

about
Future Ritual is a practice of gathering, curating and organising. We collaborate with artists to create contemporary expressions of ritual, working to support the emergence of new and more attuned cultures.

We understand performance art and experiential practices as potent ways of connecting with ourselves, each other, and the places we inhabit. Against the alienation and fragmentation of contemporary life, Future Ritual fosters spaces to think and feel through land, desire, grief, belief and mystery.

join our community of artists
OPEN CALL!!
Typical artist studios aren’t suitable for many performance practices, and rehearsal space in London can be prohibitively expensive.

We are seeking up to 5 performance artists to join STUDIO: Future Ritual as Studio Residents. This long term residency is imagined as a way for performance artists to charge their work, embedded in a community of practice, with access to regular space for physical work and embodied research, and supported by Future Ritual’s producing advisory services.

If you are looking to practice in the space with less commitment, or have ideas for workshops or other happenings, check out the info about hiring our space.

what is involved
Residents get 32 hours of studio space per month, bookable in 4 hour blocks. There are blocks in the morning, afternoon and evening. We will agree your recurring bookings together, with the flexibility to change those through an online platform, subject to availability.

The space is imagined largely as a space for solo exploration, though occasional collaborators are welcome. If you have different needs, we’re open to discussing them!

Residency also gives you access to 4 advisory sessions with the Future Ritual team each year, through which we can work together to explore your ideas for projects and what you may need to make them happen.

And you’ll get a 25% discount all event tickets and on our workshops, plus a heavy discount on additional advance space booking.

about the space
The light-filled main space measures 18m x 5m. Most of the floor is covered in harlequin dance flooring. STUDIO is on the second floor. There is no lift access. There are all-gender bathrooms on the same floor. There is a modest amount of storage available for each resident.

pricing
The monthly cost is on a sliding scale:
- Patrons: £288 (£9 p/h)
- Standard: £240 (£7.50 p/h)
- Concession: £192 (£6 p/h)

how to apply
We are curating Studio Residents, partly for practical reasons around its nature as a time share, and with the ambition to create an intergenerational community of artists we feel an artistic alignment with.

> Apply via this google form; Deadline 03 March 2026
