We are excited to be fostering this space together. This page is intended to hold all the information you need about your Studio Resident Membership with Future Ritual.
This is a new initative, which will shift and develop overtime. We welcome conversations around what is and isn’t working, and are always happy to clarify things and figure things out together.

safety
The fire exits are at either end of the space. The designated Fire Assembly area for the Bussey Building is Assembly Point A (outside Unit 2C - Vintique).There are regular fire alarm tests and we will do our best to let you know if these will impact you - if in doubt, exit the building!
using the studio
The studio is on the second floor of the Bussey Building, up the yellow stairs. The key safe is located just outside the space. We'll share the code with you before your first session. Please don't pass this on to anyone else.The space is approx 21m x 4m, laid mostly with Harlequin dance floor over cork. There is an area of bare concrete floor for any more heavy duty material work. The building is heated in colder months - this is not something we can adjust ourselves. Toilets are just outside of our space and require a code to enter.
There is a basic sound system in the space. If you need additional technical equipment - projector, cables, mics, tv screens - please request this in advance and we'll do our best to accommodate.
hours & access
The site is open 7am to 12am every day. Our sessions begin at 9am and end by 10pm. Your arrival, set up and any clean up should happen within the hours of your booking.
You’ll have sole use of the main space during your booking, but if the FR team are in the office, we may need to cross the space occasionally. If you’re doing sensitive work, and you would rather have total privacy, please let us know in advance.
If you have any issues with access (or anything else), contact Joseph or zack.
looking after the space
The dance floor is expensive and heavy! Please help us take care of it, and keep the studio a nice environment for us all to use.In particular, please don’t use outdoor shoes in the space - there are shoe racks by the entry way. If you're working with materials, liquids, or anything that could mark the floor, lay down protection first. There is an area of bare concrete at the far end for more heavy duty work!
Leave the space as you found it - this includes clearing any equipment you've brought in and a quick tidy at the end of your session. A quick run over the dance floor with a damp towel wrapped around a broom helps lift any marks. If needed, there is a vacuum cleaner, broom and mop and buckets in the office.
When leaving please lock the space, and return the keys to the key safe, making sure it is locked.
