Join our community of practice at STUDIO: Future Ritual, a new space for gathering, performance and embodied practice in the Bussey Building, Peckham.

We are seeking artists and makers who need space for physical practice to join STUDIO: Future Ritual as Studio Residents.
This long term residency is imagined as a way for makers at all stages to charge their work, embedded in a community of practice, with regular access to an 80m2 studio space for physical work and embodied research, and supported by Future Ritual’s artist development activities and producing advisory services.

about the space

The studio is a light-filled former industrial space in Peckham's Bussey Building. The main rehearsal space measures approx 21m x 4m. Most of the floor is covered in harlequin dance flooring.  There is a modest amount of storage available for each resident.

The studio is located on the second floor of the Bussey Building, a former industrial warehouse. Regrettably, there is currently no lift access to this studio. There are all-gender bathrooms on the same floor.

what do STUDIO Residents get?


space for rehearsal & physical creation
STUDIO Residents will have solo access to our light-filled 60m2 rehearsal and creation space for 32 hours (full time membership) or 16 hours (part time membership) every month.

You’re welcome to work with collaborators in the space. 

regular advisory sessions
Residents can sit down with the Future Ritual team for advisory sessions once every 3 (full time) or 6 (part time) months. 

These sessions are a space to explore your ideas for projects and what you may need to make them happen.

 discounts on events & space
All Residents get a 25% discount on Future Ritual tickets and workshops, and a 50% discount on additional space booking.

a community of practice
We’ll host regular social and practice sharing sessions through which you can try out ideas and receive feedback from a supportive community of other artists.




what it costs

STUDIO Residents pay a monthly fee. The minimum commitment is 6 months. The cost is on a sliding scale. If you’re in receipt of grant funding, we would suggest the standard price as a minimum.

Full Time ~ 32 hours space per month
- Patrons: £288 (£9 p/h) 
- Standard: £240 (£7.50 p/h)
- Concession: £192 (£6 p/h)

Half Time ~ 16 hours space per month
- Patrons: £160 (£10 p/h) 
- Standard: £136 (£8.50 p/h)
- Concession: £112 (£7 p/h)


how it works

Space is allocated in 4 hour blocks. There are blocks in the morning, afternoon and evening. We will agree your recurring bookings together. These will be held in the calendar for you every month. 

There will be the flexibility to change recurring bookings on an ad hoc basis through an online platform, subject to availability. Planning for a reasonably consistent use will be beneficial!

We are curating STUDIO Residents, partly for practical reasons around the space’s nature as a time share, and with the ambition to create an intergenerational community of makers we find an artistic alignment with. 

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, with preference given to those who can start in June or July.
