R.M. Sánchez-Camus

R.M. Sánchez-Camus is a London-based performance and socially engaged artist whose work explores ritual, memory, and belonging. Their live art blends poetic action, bilingual text, and participation to create intimate encounters with place and community. With Chilean and Argentine roots, R.M. often draws on Latin American culture and philosophy, weaving diasporic narratives into site-responsive performance. They are the founding director of Applied Live Art Studio, producing collaborative projects across the UK and internationally, and they teach and research socially engaged performance and creative health. R.M.’s work has been presented in theatres, galleries, chapels, and public spaces, including the Imperial War Museums, Tate Exchange, and independent artist-led festivals. Recent pieces such as Souffle Fragile and El Tiempo Indómito explore themes of identity, ecology, and interdependence. Their practice creates space for audiences to reflect, participate, and imagine new ways of being together.
