In Any Case

Future Ritual are glad to host Found Luggage In Any Case, a special performance dialogue between artists Marilyn Arsem and Anne Bean.

Marilyn Arsem is galvanized by what emerges from individual conciousness. Anne Bean is excited by the intersection of conciousnesses.

Their work will take place in ‘The Old Waiting Room’ in Peckham. They will be given suitcases with found objects. Marilyn and Anne won’t know until they begin the performance what is in their suitcases, or what they will do alone and together.

Following the performance, we invite you to join us across the road in STUDIO: Future Ritual for drinks, conversation and summer conviviality.

This performance encounter in London follows Field Work, a residential workshop co-facilitated by Marilyn and Anne in the Eden Valley.

Performance artist Marilyn Arsem has been creating and performing live events for more than forty years and has presented her work in thirty countries around the globe. Many of her works are durational in nature, minimal in actions and materials, and have been created in response to specific sites, engaging with the immediate landscape and materiality of the location, its history, use or politics.

    > Collaborators: Marilyn Arsem

Collaboration and process are embedded in Anne Bean’s work. Her engagement is as the ‘space-between’, receiver, receptor, and conjuror, strategies to plug into time and timelessness. This enables her work to embody changing issues and manifestations, as well as deeply rooted concerns.

    Industrial Echoes

This encounter is presented as part of Industrial Echoes, an eight month programme cycle exploring belief systems & contemporary folk practices in the post-industrial context of London. How can performance (re)connect us and deepen our sense of belonging in this place?
