Future Ritual is a practice of gathering, curating and organising. We collaborate with artists to create contemporary expressions of performance and ritual, working to support the emergence of new and more attuned cultures.

Gillian Dyson

Gillian Dyson is a solo artist, socially engaged practitioner and educator. Dyson’s feminist practice is in discourse with issues of queer aging, the everyday and politics of space. Concerns include the mental and physical aspects of menopause and dementia. Dyson’s approach rethinks the relationship between thing and person, the spatial and temporal. She was commissioned to perform for Surrender, Transform25 Festival; Drawing Out Hilbre Island 2025: British Art & Design Association; Back to Athens- Crossroads International Festival, and Utopias Festival, Dráma, Greece 2024. In 2022 Dyson received the Arts Council England DYCP grant to work with Florence Peake, Karen Christopher, Victoria Gray. Dyson trained in Butoh dance theatre, developing somatic and movement aspects of her work. Until closure in 2024, Dyson was acting Chair of CLAY (Centre for Live Art Yorkshire, in Leeds). She’s Senior Lecturer in Performing Arts with Leeds Becket University
