2026

A programme cycle exploring belief systems & contemporary folk practices in the post-industrial context of London. How can performance (re)connect us and deepen our sense of belonging in this place?

One of the long impacts of capitalism, colonialism & industry in London has been the erasure of rituals & folk practices, severing some modes of connection between people & place, particularly for marginalised people in urban environments

INDUSTRIAL ECHOES asks: how are artists on the margins reinventing ritual & folk practices in the post-industrial city?

What alternatives do these practices suggest to current concerns like loneliness, re-industrialisation & rising nationalisms? How can new place-based practices promote deeper belonging (being at home in) a city that often feels isolating?

Programme announcements will follow in spring 2026. Enquiries to producing@futureritual.co.uk.
