Ewan Hindes

Ewan Hindes (they/them) is an artist whose work is a process of existing symbiotically with surrounding spaces through bodily-centred rituals and extra-terrestrial aesthetics. It is a practice of queer sexuality and identity - finding deep connection and pleasure whilst alienated by wider society. They are particularly interested in the concept of ‘tentacularity’ – the connectedness of things, and use bodily materials such as hair, urine and saliva as embodiments of that. They grow and seep outwards, as well as play a role in physical human connection, and as such the actions and rituals they are incorporated into often align with kink and fetish practices. Their performances often include peculiar, amorphous objects that function as sculptures and costumes and spoken tales of extra-terrestrial folklore that grow alongside actions that help create strange, alien spaces and temporalities.
