join Future Ritual’s community of practice

We are seeking artists and makers who need space for physical and embodied practice to join STUDIO: Future Ritual as Studio Residents.

Typical artist studios aren’t suitable for many embodied practices, and rehearsal space in London can be prohibitively expensive.

This long term residency is imagined as a way for artists to charge their work, embedded in a community of practice, with access to regular space for physical work and embodied research, and supported by Future Ritual’s artist development activities and producing advisory services

about the space
The light-filled main space measures approx 18m x 4.5m. Most of the floor is covered in harlequin dance flooring. STUDIO is on the second floor. There is no lift access. There are all-gender bathrooms on the same floor. There is a modest amount of storage available for each resident.

The space is imagined largely as a space for solo exploration, though occasional collaborators are welcome. If you have different needs - or ideas for happenings - we’re open to discussing them!

how it works

scheduling
Residents will be have access to 16 or 32 hours of studio space per month, bookable in 4 hour blocks, plus other discounts and benefits.

There are blocks in the morning, afternoon and evening.

We will agree your recurring bookings together, which will be held in the calendar. There will be the flexibility to change those through an online platform, subject to availability.

We are looking for artists to commit to a minimum 6 month term. If you are looking to practice in the space with less commitment, or have ideas for workshops or other happenings, check out the info about hiring our space.

full time membership
As a full time member, you get 32 hours of studio space each month, booked in 4 hour blocks.

You can sit down with the Future Ritual team for an advisory session once every 3 months, through which we can work together to explore your ideas for projects and what you may need to make them happen.

You’ll get a 25% discount on all event tickets and workshops, and a 50% discount on additional space booking.

There’ll be occasional social and practice sharing sessions through which you can try out ideas.

The monthly cost is on a sliding scale:
- Patrons: £288 (£9 p/h)
- Standard: £240 (£7.50 p/h)
- Concession: £192 (£6 p/h)

The minimum commitment is 6 months.

half time membership
As a part time member, you get 16 hours of studio space each month, booked in 4 hour blocks.

You can sit down with the Future Ritual team for an advisory session once every 6 months, through which we can work together to explore your ideas for projects and what you may need to make them happen.

You’ll get a 25% discount on all event tickets and workshops, and a 50% discount on additional space booking.

There’ll be occasional social and practice sharing sessions through which you can try out ideas.

The monthly cost is on a sliding scale:
- Patrons: £160 (£10 p/h)
- Standard: £136 (£8.50 p/h)
- Concession: £112 (£7 p/h)

The minimum commitment is 6 months.

We are curating Studio Residents, partly for practical reasons around its nature as a time share, and with the ambition to create an intergenerational community of artists we feel an artistic alignment with.
