a year-long programme exploring performance as a modality for gathering, ritual and ceremony amidst the fragmentation of contemporary life.
Future Ritual works to support the emergence of new and more attuned cultures by collaborating with artists to create contemporary expressions of ritual.
Established and led by artist and curator Joseph Morgan Schofield, Future Ritual fosters spaces of sensitivity and attunement in which to think and feel through ideas of land, desire, belief, mystery and death.
Since 2017, our work has been shaped by an expansive constellation of artists and practitioners. We have intentionally shifted shape between iterations, though the core strands of our work have remained consistent: curatorial programmes, which temporarily activate and inhabit borrowed spaces; knowledge, which is produced and shared through artist labs, intensive workshops, talks and writing commissions; and creative producing, through which we foster sustained collaborative relationships and support artists to realise unique projects.
